A few more Play Me I’m Yours videos from Royce Hall today

A few more Play Me I’m Yours videos.  Here’s the best one, in terms of wind noise.

Here’s the fastest piece the pianist played— impressive!

Here’s the final piece, which was also the longest.  I recommend skipping to 3:10 in this one— you can really get a sense of the grandeur of Royce Hall at that point.

Finally… usually this week when I’ve walked by the Play Me I’m Yours piano, there’ve been crowds of varying sizes to encourage a piano player, or to patiently wait their turn while appreciating the music. Tonight when I walked by, it struck me that this young man had no audience, but was playing as beautifully as anyone I’ve heard yet. I only captured a few seconds of it.

Play Me I’m Yours. For the LA version of this national art project, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra has placed 30 pianos in public spaces all around Los Angeles, and at noon, they’re all playing the same piece at once (Bach’s “The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1”). This video is first (of four) songs/segments played at the noon kickoff at UCLA Royce Hall.
